As I awake and get into the morning rhythm...well, I already did an hour of work and had breakfast and watched tv... I thought I'd do a quick post to both note a few things of how thing settled and life lessons for others from my experience.
The overall daily activity structure is not that different in this location, but .. not trying to sound over dramatic but true.. I notice that things taste better, the air feels like it has more oxygen .. and my back has unclenched for the first time in a long time. It's not from Florida, necessarily. It's from not living in a hopeless situation where most things I saw around me was from a past that had rejected me. Suddenly, I am just another person out there, working to pay my way and my surroundings are those of my choice. The point? You have the power to improve not only your income but your mental and physical wellbeing by your choice of whether you stay in toxic situations or liberate yourself.
Thanks to my planning, saving, and adjusting along the way, I am set up in my new place. It's not perfect, but it is way better than I had as a new adult, a long time ago. I have cable, a bed, a chair, a fridge, a microwave, free wifi (though it is spotty so I got hotspot on my phone for work), and Sunday I will have another car, as well. It is too old for use in Rideshare, but it is fine for Postmates, with which I am already setup and able to deliver day one, if I needed. That said, I am making plenty with Appen, right now, so I'll likely just supplement that and increase as needed. I MAY go back into accounting and use the car to go to work, but that is just a thought out there. As long as Appen keeps going, I will stay a month out from financial need due to it paying each month in the next month, which would give me time to adjust if needed. Further, due to that, any money made by Postmates, usertesting, etc would be on TOP of the appen income, even if that income were to suddenly stop. So...feeling secure.
Finally, as I move away from that toxic situation, I am realizing something positive that even applies to her, even though it being real would not change the situation. I am realizing that if you look hard enough, you can find something good or bad in everyone, as we all have good and bad qualities. The world is more negative or positive, based upon what you are looking to find. However, as I said, that does not change whether or not someone values you in the way you need. It just means no one is all bad or all good. Things just work, or they don't. If they don't, move on to what does.
