This Memorial Day weekend, I want to leave you with this advice. Take the time to remember you.. in all your glory.
Over the last week, I’ve done that from time to time.. remembering the me that existed prior to my last ex or for that matter ALL of my ex’s. I grew up with the advantage of being a little geeky “four eyes” glasses wearing kid, so I spent a lot of time learning about myself and my interests. I was rejected publicly by a girl in 5th grade and the humiliation of it kept me from really trying until a camp girlfriend. So, I developed myself.
However, that self attracted different women over time. They may have eventually worked themselves out of my life, but they did like what they saw to begin. I also succeeded at various careers, hobbies, military, writing, and more. So, the times I feel down, I don’t only need to look ahead but look back to the wonderful person that I became and take the best parts forward. I would recommend you do the same.
