Re-Evaluating Romance Conclusion

It's been a few days since I came to a conclusion in my re-evaluating romance task laid out in a prior post.  However, it's been a busy, busy week.  So, I'm posting it, now.

Days ago, I felt led to watch a movie that I'd seen before and liked, but the end has the couple breaking up (in one of the two outcomes at the end), and I didn't want to see that.  It's similar to my liking but not watching movies where the broke up couple comes together, because that isn't a reality in my world.  Anyway, I felt led to watch it, so I did.

It is a musical movie, which me being a musical person loves.  In one of the songs of the movie, the lyrics go like this..

“Just one thing everybody wants
There in the bars
And through the smokescreen of the crowded restaurants
It's love
Yes, all we're looking for is love from someone else
(A rush)
A glance
(A touch)
A dance
A look in somebody's eyes
To light up the skies
To open the world and send it reeling
A voice that says, I'll be here
And you'll be alright
A look in somebody's eyes
To light up the skies
To open the world and send it reeling
A voice that says, I'll be here
And you'll be alright.”

That helped a lot, as it reminded me that relationships are not just sex and being able to be more social.  It's also about "a rush.. a glance.. a touch.. a dance."  It's the MAGIC of it all, as I have noted in past blog posts gets lost when everyone is judging each other and defensively making a list of failures.  It's about trusting someone, supporting someone, and knowing that someone cares for you in a way that your general friends only do from afar when you post something.

So, yes... romance is still needed in your older years, and I will continue my hope for the potential in my life one day.
